Thank you for being here and reading. And thank you for leaving kindness in my comment section! ❤️. I hope you are well and enjoying a beautiful weekend!
Always 🌺. It was a heavy week on different levels and I found it hard to focus. Beauty in the ways of your shared story, art, the ocean in front of me, and connection with people like you is delightful in times like these. Enjoying the rest of my Sunday by being creative and reading a bit. Hope yours is exactly how you need it right now 🍀.
Sending you love and a hug. I am glad you found bright spots of beauty to lift your soul this week. I hope things get better soon. ❤️. My Sunday should be relaxing, hopefully a bit creative, too. I hope you get a chance to rest and create today. ❤️💐
Thank you so much, Jenn. Looking after myself and going gentle now. The sun just set and I see an orange-bluey ocean and sky. So soothing. Enjoy yours.
Your art, like your words, emanates joy, vibrancy. A celebration of here and now. And I know that when I open your posts my day will get that little bit better ! Thank you for sharing your work as always. A feelgood boomerang indeed :)
Thank you, that is really so kind and definitely brightened my day and brought me a smile! I appreciate you, it’s an honor to have my work spark joy ☺️
I cannot expand on this comment more, except for to say your light is a saving grace that has most definitely boomeranged back into my heart time and time again. I love everything about this piece and your beautiful work as always. Replacing the word life with art, so perfect. Always an offering back to the Main Light Giver and His purpose for your life 🙏🏻
Sending you much love and group hugs for a peaceful weekend 😘 ox
Thank you, Deb! I feel the same about you; your light is always burning brightly, showing the way. I so appreciate you. Thank you for checking out my art and my post! I hope you’re having a great weekend and things are settling down for you ❤️. Sending a hug to you!
Wow! Jenn that was such a beautiful piece. The touching and ephemeral moment you captured, the magic with which you wrote it, and the sentiment that carries through it. A truly lovely piece. :)
Thank you!! It means so much to me that you felt that way about my post. I appreciate you for leaving me such a kind and thoughtful comment and for taking the time to check out my work! ☺️
I love your idea of replacing the word life with art; it gives us all the liberty to replace your word with our word, so it resonates among all of us. I am a great believer in a little kindness, a little attention going a long way, and your beautiful spirit shines in your words and in your art. Hugs ❤️
Thank you so much! It is a wonderful, versatile prayer, I hope you do replace life with any word that suits you! I am so glad it resonated with you. I agree with you heartily about a little kindness making the world run along at a smoother pace. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and for checking out my post, I appreciate your kind spirit, too, it’s warmed my heart ! ❤️
Beautiful! I love the relationship you enjoy with your Down’s Syndrome friend. You both share cherished moments. That is a life changer in a positive way. Thank you so much for sharing. Do you follow Kristen Milcombe here on Substack? Her daughter is Betsy she talks about. Betsy has Down Syndrome.
Thank you, Charlotte, I’m so glad you enjoyed our grocery store adventure! I do follow Kristen and her sweet Betsy!!! I think I found them by way of a post you shared, actually. Isn’t Betsy the cutest 💕❤️
Absolutely, Betsy is adorable! During my visits to my father-in-law's rest home, I became friends with a wonderful lady who had Down Syndrome—she was such a sweetheart. Unfortunately, after COVID hit, I wasn’t allowed to visit anymore, and then my father-in-law passed away. 😞 It breaks my heart to think about her; she was so young. I keep her in my prayers.
By the way, I’ve been meaning to share this with you: I received your beautiful art print, and I absolutely love it! As soon as I have some time to frame it, I’ll send you a photo. Thank you so much! It’s just perfect for the bathroom, just like I envisioned.
That’s so wonderful to hear of your friendship with the lady who had Down syndrome. I’m sorry you lost touch with her due to circumstances beyond your control. You are such a kind hearted lady, it always shines through in your writing and stories. I know you must have made her feel happy and and loved through your friendship.
I am so thrilled to hear the print arrived and that you love it! I hope it gives your bathroom that little bit of extra sparkle. Thank you so much, Charlotte ❤️❤️❤️. I hope you have a beautiful week!
Jenn, my sister, before I had my own kids, I worked at a One Hour Photo in a Meijer Store (equivalent to a Wal*Mart) in Michigan at the time. The store was situated at an entrance. You couldn't come into the store without seeing our counter or workers leaning over it.
Once, when I was leaning on the counter during downtime with my friend, a group of people came in, and to the counter. They didn't stay long. Their smiles were big, their excitement undeniable. I think they were like angels also; there to speak to me as if to remind me how powerful life given to humans by God, is! I have never forgotten that.
Down Syndrome is a blessing to humanity not a curse and not something to be afraid of.
Kids teach us! One of my kids went to school with twins who were autistic. These twins lived close to the school. We lived far away; an hour school bus ride away. But when I would pick up that child (I'm sorry, I cannot remember which child), we would pass by the house where this family lived and my child would say, "This is where _____ lives. "He's Autism". And "his brother, ______ is Autism too." And they; my kid and the twins had that innocence that I'm pretty sure, was in the hearts of those people I saw who had Down Syndrome at the One Hour Photo. I'm thinking it's a blessing that never leaves a person
Yes!!!! How powerful a life given to humans by God. Thank you ❤️ Down syndrome is a blessing; I can’t begin to tell you how my daughter has blessed my family and everyone around her. Sometimes I feel as if she does not belong to me; but I belong to her. There is indeed an innocence and a purity given to some people and it brings us back to earth and helps us to remember what is important…namely what you said: the wonder and power of the divine spark of life and how we use it. Thank you for sharing these stories, I so appreciate you and your love of life. I hope your sweet family is well! ❤️
AbSOULutely brilliant! Bright and uplifting, love, beauty, and so full of JOY!! what a powerful message in your story. I love your art work. I too am an artist and flowers are my muse. All Nature truly! I too had a brother born with differences. He was the angel of our lives!
Thank you kindly, I am so happy this resonated with you, and thank you for reading! Nature is a gorgeous muse, isn’t she!? I love your flower paintings, too. And cheers to those angels who bring bright joy through their differences. Thank you ❤️
Precious in every way, Jenn. Thank you for sharing these moments of your life with me and all of us here. And your art. 💖

We just never know what will take our day from black & white to color. A hug and smile is a great place to start.
Well said, I couldn’t agree more ❤️. Thank you so much for this beautiful comment!
I love your carnations!
Thank you so much! I think I would spend all day drawing flowers if I could.
